Giorgio Cardone is a senior international development cooperation professional with over 25 years of experience in supervising humanitarian, development, and post-conflict projects funded by major international organizations, including the European Commission, United Nations agencies, several international development banks such as the World Bank, the African Development Bank, and the Asian Development Bank, as well as bilateral cooperation agencies.
Working both at headquarters and in the field with non-governmental organizations, the Italian Cooperation — now AICS — and consulting firms, he has coordinated project identification, design, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation, managing multidisciplinary teams, administering budgets, and ensuring quality delivery in complex contexts.
His experience includes the direct supervision of cooperation initiatives in the Balkans, the Middle East, Moldova, Türkiye, Afghanistan, Tanzania, and Mozambique, covering sectors such as governance, institutional strengthening, education and vocational training, support to civil society and local authorities, refugee protection, and socio-economic inclusion.
His profile combines strategic oversight with operational management, supporting both the preparation of proposals and the implementation of awarded contracts. He currently serves as Senior Business Developer at Lattanzio KIBS, a company with which he has worked continuously since 2017.
