Massimiliano Branchi graduated in Law from the University of Parma in 1997 and began his career in the Human Resources function at Iveco, where he managed an increasingly broad range of activities related to personnel management, training, development, and compensation policies.
In 2005 he joined Italcementi, where he coordinated the start‑up phase of three newly acquired subsidiaries in Egypt. He was later appointed Group HR Development Manager.
In 2007 he moved to Eni, taking on the role of HR & Organization Manager with responsibility for all personnel in the Kazakhstan area. In 2009 he was appointed Development, Organization & Services Division Manager at Nigerian Agip Oil Company (NAOC). In 2012, after serving as HR Manager for the Africa and Middle East region, he became Development Vice President of the E&P Division, overseeing training and development policies for the Division’s workforce as well as the direct management of divisional leadership.
In 2015 he was appointed Managing Director of Eni International Resources Limited, the Eni subsidiary responsible for selection and employer‑branding activities across the Group, as well as for the management of international personnel.
In 2016 he became HR Development Senior Vice President at Eni, with responsibility for strategic Talent Management and for coordinating the selection and training of managerial resources. In 2020 he was appointed Head of HR Development.
Since 1 July 2021 he has served as Director of Human Resources, Organization and Services at Saipem S.p.A. and is a member of the Executive Committee. In January 2022 he took on the role of Director of People, Safety and Environment. As of February 2023, he also oversees Sustainability activities, and his position has been redefined as Chief People, HSEQ and Sustainability Officer.
