Functional Medicine Medical Director
Human Health

Dr. Mayoni Gooneratne is a UK-based medical doctor, former NHS surgeon, functional medicine practitioner, educator, and founder of Human Health, an integrative healthcare ecosystem focused on longevity, metabolic health, and preventative medicine. Known for her systems-based approach to health optimisation, she works at the intersection of women’s health, metabolism, neuroscience, aesthetics, and longevity medicine.
Originally trained in conventional medicine, Dr. Mayoni expanded into functional medicine, nutritional medicine, and metabolic health to develop a more preventative and personalised model of care. Her work focuses on identifying dysfunction early to improve healthspan, resilience, cognitive performance, and long-term vitality.
She is particularly recognised for her work in women’s longevity medicine, exploring the links between hormonal health, metabolism, mitochondrial function, inflammation, and brain health across the female lifespan. She is also known for introducing integrative aesthetics, viewing skin health as a reflection of overall systemic health.
Through Human Health, Dr. Mayoni has developed clinical frameworks focused on gut health, endocrine balance, neurological health, and mitochondrial optimisation. Passionate about translating “bench to bedside” science into practical application, she brings real-world clinical experience to the longevity conversation, bridging the gap between emerging research and meaningful patient outcomes. She brings this expertise to PHC Clinics through the Metabolic Reset programme.
An internationally sought-after speaker, Dr. Mayoni lectures on metabolic health, menopause, mitochondrial function, stress physiology, and personalised longevity medicine, advocating for a more preventative and human-centred healthcare model.
