Graduated in Electronic Engineering at Federico II University in Naples, he began his career in the space division of the former Aeritalia as manager of communication systems and on‑board computers for satellites.
Previously responsible for major scientific projects such as Hipparcos and Integral, he also worked on the International Space Station.
He served as Vice President for Science and Exploration at Thales Alenia Space Italia, overseeing the implementation of key European missions such as GOCE, Herschel & Planck, and the launch of projects including BepiColombo—aimed at exploring Mercury—the Solar Orbiter mission, and ExoMars for the exploration of the Red Planet.
Since 2004, he has been a member of the ISEC (International Space Exploration Committee).
He is currently Vice President for Marketing & Sales for institutional activities at Thales Alenia Space Italia and Chief Executive Officer of ALTEC S.p.A.
