Renewable Matters

Emanuele Bompan is an environmental journalist and geographer. He covers circular economy, climate change, water resources, food security, energy, sustainable mobility, green economy, and U.S. politics.
He is the Editor‑in‑Chief of Materia Rinnovabile – Renewable Matter, the first international magazine dedicated to circular economy and bioeconomy. He contributes to outlets such as National Geographic, La Repubblica, Il Sole 24 Ore, 3BMeteo, La Nuova Ecologia, Lifegate, and Oltremare. He is the author of numerous books, including Atlante geopolitico dell’Acqua (Hoepli, 2019), Watergrabbing – le guerre nascoste per l’acqua del XXI secolo (EMI, 2018), Economia Circolare (Edizioni Ambiente, 2016), and Bioarchitettura (Hachette, 2013).
He has won the European Journalism Center IDR Grant four times, the Middlebury Environmental Journalism Fellowship once, and was named “Giornalista per la Terra” in 2015. He has carried out reporting in 75 countries, both as a journalist and as an analyst. An expert in cooperation and environmental issues, he works as a content producer for the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS).
He holds a PhD in geography and collaborates with ministries, foundations, think tanks, and clean‑tech incubators.
