Kira Fortune

Regional Advisor – Healthy Cities, Health Promotion and Well-being

Kira Fortune is Regional Advisor for Healthy Cities, Health Promotion and Well-being at the WHO European Regional Office, based in Copenhagen, Denmark. She has been with WHO since 2008 in various capacities, including Coordinator for Social Determinants of Health and Violence and Injury Prevention. She leads WHO/Europe's work on the Healthy Cities Network—now in its 35th year—which operates as a political, cross-sectoral initiative supporting cities across the European Region to place health and well-being at the centre of development. She previously served as Program Officer for HIV/AIDS at UNICEF and as a research officer at the International Planned Parenthood Federation. She holds a Master's in International Health from the University of Copenhagen.
