Lamberto Bertolé has served as Councillor for Welfare and Health for the Municipality of Milan since 2021. In this role, he has promoted a model of shared governance based on co‑design with the third sector to address the city’s social and health‑related challenges. He is also President of the WHO Italian Healthy Cities Network, where he supports the role of municipalities in promoting public health and reducing inequalities.
His career is deeply rooted in social engagement: since 1998 he has worked as a social worker, and in 2003 he founded the Arimo cooperative, dedicated to supporting and empowering adolescents in difficulty. He holds a PhD in Philosophy and Philosophical Hermeneutics, has taught in a Milanese science high school, and has edited the essays Educare al futuro (FrancoAngeli), Il rischio di educare, and Il miele e l’aceto (Laurana Editore).
From 2016 to 2021, he served as President of the Milan City Council. His experience brings together political vision, concrete attention to people’s needs, and a deep sensitivity toward childhood, adolescence, and vulnerable populations.
