Mario Alberto Battaglia

Born in Genoa in 1954, Prof. Mario Alberto Battaglia is a Full Professor of Hygiene and Public Health at the University of Siena and has served as President of the Multiple Sclerosis International Federation (MSIF) since 2024. He has been a member of the MSIF Board since 1989 and Chairman of the Italian Multiple Sclerosis Foundation (FISM) since 1998. Battaglia has been a volunteer and leader within AISM for 50 years, and his election to the MSIF presidency was celebrated as a milestone for the global MS movement. His vision centers on placing people living with MS at the heart of all decisions, advancing a Global Research Agenda, and pushing for wider access to treatment worldwide.
