Massimo Chiriatti

Massimo Chiriatti is Chief Technology and Innovation Officer for the Infrastructure Solutions Group (ISG) at Lenovo Italy and a leading voice in the country’s technology and digital innovation landscape. In his role, he defines the division’s technological vision and works closely with C-level executives across Italy’s largest organizations, advising on the strategic adoption of advanced technologies.

A technologist, author, and educator, Chiriatti focuses on artificial intelligence, digital transformation, and the ethical dimensions of technology. His work bridges technical innovation with its broader societal, economic, and governance implications, contributing to both corporate strategy and public debate.

He serves as Adjunct Professor at LUISS University, where he teaches Ethics for AI within the Master’s in Data Science and Management, and has also taught at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore. He is a member of the Italian Ministry of Economic Development’s commission of senior experts on blockchain and distributed ledger technologies.

Chiriatti is the author of Artificial Unconsciousness: How Machines Predict for Us (LUISS University Press, 2021) and Humanless – L’algoritmo egoista (Hoepli, 2019), and co-author of the #BlockchainItalia Manifesto. His academic work includes publications in leading journals such as Nature and Springer, including the widely cited paper on GPT-3 co-authored with philosopher Luciano Floridi.

Through his research, teaching, and advisory work, he continues to shape how organizations and institutions understand and govern the transformative impact of artificial intelligence.
