Orla Galvin

Executive Director

Orla Galvin came to patient advocacy with a PhD in Medicine and a background in drug discovery and design in both academic and industry environments. Before EFNA, she led high-impact, multi-stakeholder socio-economic studies, patient preference studies, and accessibility studies across the globe at the umbrella patient organisation Retina International, assessing both rare and common conditions. As Executive Director of EFNA, she has become a leading force in European neurology policy, advancing the WHO's Intersectoral Global Action Plan on Epilepsy and other Neurological Disorders, co-founding the OneNeurology Partnership, and regularly engaging at the European Parliament, the UN General Assembly, and the World Health Organization.
