Sonia Melchiorre

President of CUG UNITUS and Associate Professor

Sonia Maria Melchiorre is an Associate Professor of English for Media and Communication at the University of Tuscia (Unitus). With an extensive international background gained at Glasgow University (Scotland) and the University of East Anglia (England), her research focuses on women, feminist, gender, and LGBT+ studies, with a particular emphasis on English-language media production. She has a wide-ranging body of scientific work published across several European countries.

In terms of her civil and institutional commitment, she serves as the President of the Single Guarantee Committee (CUG) at the University of Tuscia and is a member of the UNITUS Gender Equality Plan working group. A staunch believer in culture as an antidote to violence and abuse, she coordinates numerous social initiatives and international conferences (such as Women Minding Their Own Business) aimed at promoting female empowerment.
