Alessandro Armillotta

I’m an award-winning environmental activist and entrepreneur passionate about pushing the boundaries of innovation and behavioral science for the wellbeing of our planet. I’m the CEO of AWorld, an Italian climate tech startup and certified B Corp chosen by the United Nations as the official digital partner for the ACTNOW campaign, which promotes individual action for sustainability.
At AWorld, we’re more than a platform, we’re a team dedicated to driving digital learning, engagement, and behavioral change through cutting-edge technologies, gamification, and artificial intelligence. Our mission is to make positive change a habit by turning personal growth, collective well-being, and sustainability into daily experiences that are engaging, measurable, and accessible to every individual and organization.
My passion for behavioral change, innovation, and impact is rooted in a diverse career spanning communications, sustainability, and digital strategy. I’ve worked across startups and e-commerce ventures in the U.S., Europe, and Asia, developing a deep understanding of how technology, storytelling, and human behavior intersect. This international experience has shaped my belief that meaningful change happens when innovation is paired with purpose, a principle that continues to guide how I lead AWorld and collaborate with global partners.
Before founding AWorld, I spent several years in the fashion industry, serving as President of Bluefly in New York and later collaborating with the Hilfiger family. After witnessing firsthand the environmental cost of fast fashion, I made a deliberate shift to focus my career on climate action and social impact.
In 2022, I became the first person to raise the UN Sustainable Development Goals flag at the summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro. I’m also a TEDx speaker, host a podcast with Forbes, and remain deeply committed to advancing the UN 2030 Sustainable Development Goals in everything I do.
