Dan Altschuler Malek is Managing Partner and Co-Founder of Unovis Asset Management, a global venture capital firm recognised as the world's leading early-stage investor in the alternative protein sector. Unovis, based in the Netherlands and the United States, has backed more than 50 companies across plant-based and cultivated food technologies, including Beyond Meat, Aleph Farms, NovaMeat, Heura, ImaginDairy, Black Sheep Foods, and GreenOnyx. Dan co-founded Unovis (formerly New Crop Capital) with a mission to transform the global food system through purpose-driven investing. His background spans 25+ years in food-related ventures—launching a snack company, heading a logistics firm, opening a restaurant, and running a creative agency. He holds an MBA from Babson's F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business. He currently serves on the boards of NovaMeat, Black Sheep Foods, Abbot's, and GreenOnyx. He leads the firm's deal flow and strategic activities across North America and Israel.
