Giuseppe Andreoni
Professor

Politecnico di Milano

Degree in Electronic Engineering in 1993 and Ph.D in Bioengeneering nel 1998 at the Politecnico di Milano.
He is currently Full Professor at the Department of Design of Politecnico di Milano where he is the Coordinator of the Laboratory “Technology and Design for Healthcare (TeDH)”, and professor at the School of Design.
In the Department of Design, he is also the Responsible of the Sensibilab Research Laboratory (Biomedical Sensors and Systems) in the Lecco Campus and of the LyPhE Research Laboratory (Laboratory of Physical Ergonomics) in the Bovisa Campus of Politecnico di Milano, now both integrated in the TeDH Research Laboratory of the same Department.
Currently he is also Head of the Research Area for Technological innovation in neurorehabilitation, Human Factors and Mental Health at the Scientific Institute IRCCS “E.Medea” in Bosisio Parini, Lecco, Italy.
His research activity mainly consists of the design of products, systems, environments and services for the health and well-being of people using Co-Design and User-Centred Design methods combined with Ergonomics.
The main areas of study and innovation and interest are: Wearable sensors, Ergonomics, and innovative Assistive Technologies. The main applications are health and medical devices for monitoring and assistive technologies for disability, sport and fitness, home care and home automation with advanced IoT solutions.
Giuseppe Andreoni has developed extensive multidisciplinary skills integrated in his didactic and scientific path: design, biomedical technologies, ergonomics and the study of physical interaction between man, machine and environment, digital human modeling.
He is co-author of 13 national and international patents, as well as more than 300 scientific publications.
Prof. Andreoni is also co-founder of three private companies, respectively one spin-off and two start-ups of Politecnico di Milano.
