Laura Po

Professor of Computer Science at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia (UNIMORE), Italy. My research focuses on data management, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data analytics. I coordinate and participate in interdisciplinary projects addressing urban sustainability, air quality monitoring, sustainable mobility, agro-food traceability, and healthy ageing.
My work also includes anomaly detection in sensor data streams, data integration, open data publication, and the use of large language models for extracting structured information from unstructured text and generating natural language from structured data.

In the LivelyAgeing project (https://www.livelyageing.unimore.it), I coordinate the development of digital twins for older adults, integrating sensor data and employing artificial intelligence to monitor health and well-being and to support the prevention of psycho-physical discomfort in the elderly.

I am a senior member of the Big Data Group Research at the Department of Engineering “Enzo Ferrari” (DIEF). I have authored over 80 publications (Scopus), with an H-index of 18 and over 800 citations.
I am co-founder and scientific committee member of DataRiver srl, a research spin-off offering semantic-based data integration solutions, recognized as a Qualified Research Organization by the Emilia-Romagna High Technology Network since 2009.
