Maddalena Illario

MD; Professor

Dr. Maddalena Illario is a medical doctor and endocrinologist, holding an MD and PhD, and serves as Associate Professor at the Department of Public Health at Federico II University of Naples, where she also coordinates the Health Innovation Unit for Chronic Disease. She is Chair (and former Co-Chair) of the European Reference Site Collaborative Network (RSCN), the EU platform connecting EIP on AHA Reference Sites across Europe. She has coordinated the Campania Reference Site for the European Partnership on Active and Healthy Ageing since 2013 and has led or participated in over ten EU-funded projects on digital health transformation, including mHealth Hub, Vigour, HS-Monitor, and RADAR. She is national referent for the COST Action CA19136 on Smart Healthy Age-friendly Environments. From 2016 to 2020 she also coordinated the Campania Region Division for Health Innovation.
