President


Graduated in Medicine from “La Sapienza” Univ. of Rome, Italy, and trained in Experimental Immunopathology in the US, he has focused his scientific career in basic and translational oncology.
As President of the Italian Cancer Society and Scientific Director of the “Regina Elena” National Cancer Institute in Rome, he has also addressed different issues of the fight against cancer, i.e. prevention, early diagnosis, education, and advocacy.
He has served in strategic international advisory committees and scientific magazines' boards, and co-founded the UNESCO Chart of Paris. He has an H-index of 79 with 92,5 % highly influential citations.
Emeritus of the Collegium Ramazzini (www.collegiumramazzini.org) he now serves on the Advisory Board of CancerToday Magazine edited by the AACR, which addresses public awareness, advocacy, and long-term cancer survivors' issues. Since 2015, he has been Secretary General of the Mediterranean Taskforce for Cancer Control (www.mtcc-prevention.net). Lastly, he is a Co-Founder of Janus Pharma, Italy,
He is presently engaged in research exploring the preventive ability of natural micronutrients toward chronic degenerative diseases and environmental carcinogens.
